About Convatec

Convatec is a global healthcare company committed to helping people with chronic conditions lead the life they want – giving them more confidence, independence and freedom. Convatec delivers solutions and support across four care categories, including continence care.

Within Continence Care, Convatec focuses on supporting individuals with urinary needs through innovative intermittent catheter products and trusted services. This includes day-to-day support, for people who use intermittent catheters, as well as their families, caregivers, and the healthcare professionals involved in their care – helping them feel more confident, informed, and supported throughout their journey.

About the programme

The Convatec me+ support programme provides access to education and support designed to guide individuals through every stage of their continence care journey – before, during, and after initial consultation – to help them live more confidently using intermittent catheters.

Through practical resources and expert-led guidance, the programme aims to build understanding and confidence, empowering individuals to feel more prepared, advocate for their needs and navigate their care with greater self-assurance.

The me+ support programme also recognizes that while using intermittent catheters involves a physical adjustment, it can also bring up a range of emotions. For many, it can impact confidence, relationships and overall wellbeing, yet these experiences are often overlooked.

To help address this, the me+ support programme includes a dedicated Emotional Wellbeing series, which focuses on the emotional impact of adapting to intermittent catheterization. Through a 10-module journey, individuals are supported in working through common fears, navigating lifestyle changes, and rebuilding confidence across areas such as socializing and intimacy.

Why this partnership matters

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting the whole person, not just the condition. Dr Sula Windgassen’s work has been centred on the mind-body connection – the intersection of physical health and emotion wellbeing, particularly for individuals navigating chronic, stigmatized, or intimate health challenges. The me+ programme compliments that mission by offering structured, accessible support that extends beyond clinical care and helps individuals process change, rebuild confidence, and feel less alone in their experience.

By partnering together, we aim to bridge the gap between medical guidance and emotional support, ensuring that individuals have access to tools that address both their physical needs and their psychological resilience. This collaboration creates and opportunity to reach more people who may be struggling silently – offering them practical strategies, reassurance and a pathway toward greater confidence, connection and quality of life.

While intermittent catheterisation often centres on physical care, emotional wellbeing plays a crucial role in how people adjust and live day-to-day. This partnership brings psychological insight together with patient centred continence care education to help address that gap, to help inform and empower people who use intermittent catheters.
